Abstract: Developing countries are prone to some outburst of epidemic because of the poor sanitary apparatus in existence in the public schools where more - likely those children from the underdogs will be seen. Conjunctivitis is one of such communicable disease in western sub – Sahara Africa because of the topography, level of education in the rural communities and the degree of poverty that rocks an average family. Model for transmission dynamics of acute conjunctivitis is proposed and analyzed both analytically and numerically. The model is reformulated as an optimal control problem taking into consideration the effect of proper sanitation and training of the educators; and Maximum Principle was employed to obtain the necessary conditions for existence of optimal control. The basic reproduction number is obtained using the next generation matrix and spectral radius which is less than one when computed. The result shows an agreement of the analytical and numerical solution; in addition, if the sanitation that includes the serenity of the school environment, conduciveness of the classrooms, personal hygiene are dually observed in and outside the school, and education of the caregivers which includes the teachers, menders, parents and even the pupils are articulated properly, the infected pupils shall be decreased drastically over time.

Abstract: Nowadays, an increasing number of colleges have built information systems to manage masses of educational data, but actually most data is in an idle state and fails to create any value. As an efficient data analysis method, association rule mining can precisely make good use of these disordered data and extract useful but latent information from them. In this paper, an example of 228 students, who graduated from the School of Information of Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics, China in 2017, is taken to discover the association rules between their career choices and academic performance using Apriori algorithm. The main purpose of this paper is to offer fresh graduates a reference to future career choices and help teachers guide them in better career planning. The experimental results indicate that the courses students are good at largely affect their career choices, although their overall career scope is not narrow.

Abstract: Data missing often affects the characteristics of the sequence. Using appropriate methods to process the missing data is the premise and guarantee to obtain high quality information. In this study, a fractal interpolation method is proposed to fill the missing data with self-similar feature sequences. Two sets of binomial multifractal sequences with parameters of 0.25 and 0.35 are taken as the research objects, and the Hurst index value of the sequence after filling processing is calculated by MF-DMA, which verifies the practicability of the fractal interpolation filling method. At the same time, the method is applied to multi-fractal sequences with missing rates of 10%, 15% and 20% respectively, and compared with the filling effects of deletion method and random filling method, then, the applicability of the three methods is obtained. The results show that, for binomial multifractal sequences with different missing ratios, the Hurst index of the sequence processed by fractal interpolation has the highest degree of fitting with the theoretical value, its effect of repairing the fractal sequence is better than the other two methods, and has a good application prospect.
